KAKIMONO Featured Exhibition at OGAKI BOOKSTORE Azabudai Hills
From July 25 to August 2, 2026, KAKIMONO held a special exhibition at OGAKI BOOKSTORE in Azabudai Hills Tower Plaza, where visitors could view our pieces and place bespoke orders.
The exhibition centered around Japanese Folktales, an English collection of traditional Japanese stories, re-bound by KAKIMONO in Japanese textiles.
Alongside the finished pieces, visitors were invited to explore a selection of textiles and discover KAKIMONO’s bespoke process—choosing a book and pairing it with a textile to create a one-of-a-kind piece.

Throughout the exhibition, we had the pleasure of welcoming not only customers from Japan, but also international visitors traveling in Tokyo. It was a valuable opportunity to speak with each guest about creating a piece inspired by their own memories, stories, or treasured books.
We also received a wide range of inquiries beyond books, including notebooks and personal collections designed to preserve meaningful moments and records of one’s life.
This marked KAKIMONO’s first exhibition.
Presenting our work in a bookstore—a place where people encounter books and stories—made it especially meaningful, and gave us the opportunity to introduce the world of KAKIMONO, where Japanese textiles meet fine bookbinding, directly to visitors from Japan and abroad.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who visited the exhibition.
We look forward to creating more opportunities, both in Japan and internationally, for people to experience KAKIMONO pieces in person.
Thank you for your continued support of KAKIMONO.
