Choose either a book or a photo album. We also accept notebooks, diaries, and other bound volumes.

Choose from KAKIMONO's carefully selected antique obi, or provide your own.

Enter your delivery address and payment details.

Binding & Delivery

Once your order is confirmed, our artisans bind each volume by hand and ship it within 4–5 weeks.

About Specifying a Book

Accepted:A wide range of titles can be sourced, from standard editions to books in other languages
Please EnquireItems whose cover height exceeds 25 cm (please enquire before ordering)

We will do our best to source the title you request, but in some cases we may not be able to fulfil your request.
  • Titles no longer distributed or sold in Japan
  • Titles that are extremely difficult to obtain in Japan
  • Rare or collectors' editions with exceptionally high market prices (additional fees may apply)

※ Paperbacks are accepted, but the texture and richness of the kimono obi are best expressed on a standard hardcover-sized volume. Please note that a paperback will have a more understated finish.
※ You may contact us before ordering to confirm availability.
About Bringing in Your Own Book

Once your order is confirmed, we will send the shipping address by email. Please send your book to us with postage due.

Accepted:Any item with a spine, including used books, paperbacks, hardcovers, books in other languages, notebooks, and diaries
Please EnquireItems whose cover height exceeds 25 cm (please enquire before ordering)
Not Accepted:Items without a spine, or items that are severely damaged or soiled

About Bringing in Your Own Kimono

Once your order is confirmed, we will send the shipping address by email. Please send your kimono to us with postage due.

Accepted:Kimono and kimono obi (fukuro-obi, maru-obi, nagoya-obi, etc.)
Not Accepted:Items that are severely damaged or soiled, or too narrow to provide sufficient coverage for binding (for example, hanhaba obi)

※ A fabric width of approximately 30 cm is required for binding. Narrower materials, such as hanhaba obi, cannot be used.
※ Kimono fabric itself is also accepted, though we recommend obi for the best result.


Depending on condition, we may not be able to accept your item. If you are unsure, please contact us.
Requests (Optional)

Once your order is confirmed, we will review the details and begin production.
Your payment of ¥55,000 (tax included; book, kimono, binding, paulownia storage box, and domestic shipping included) will be finalized at the time of order.
If you would like multiple volumes, please place a separate order for each.
