The price is a flat ¥55,000 — tax, book, kimono/obi fabric, bookbinding, paulownia storage box, and domestic shipping all included. It does not change regardless of which obi or book you select.

In general, all orders are a flat rate. However, additional charges may apply in the following cases:

• Rush orders (see below)
• If the book you request has a significantly high market price (rare or out-of-print editions), we may ask for an additional fee to cover sourcing costs

Approximately 4–5 weeks from the start of production. For bring-in orders, this begins after we receive your materials.

Please contact us first if you need your order by a specific date. Additional fees may apply, and availability depends on our current schedule.

There are three options:

• Curated list — Select from our list of works suited for kimono bookbinding. We source the book for you.
• Specify a title — Request any book by title. We source it for you (must be currently available in Japan — see below).
• Bring your own — Send us a book you already own.

We do our best, but we may be unable to fulfill your order in these cases:

• The book is out of print or not currently available in Japan
• The book is only available as an overseas edition
• The book's market price is extremely high (additional charges may apply)

There are two options:

• Obi collection — Select from our curated collection of obi fabrics suited for kimono bookbinding. We provide the fabric.
• Bring your own — Send us a kimono or obi you already own (see "Bring-ins" for details).

Each piece is one-of-a-kind. Once an obi is used for an order, it is no longer available. Please check the site for current availability.

We are unable to accommodate changes after an order is confirmed. Please review your selection carefully before ordering.

After placing your order, we'll send you our shipping address by email. Please send your item to us at your expense (cash-on-delivery accepted within Japan). Production begins after we receive your materials.

At this time, we only accept bring-ins from within Japan. We are not able to receive books or fabric shipped from abroad.

All obi fabrics we use come from antique kimono. They may carry a faint scent of camphor (shounoh), a traditional textile preservative. This is harmless. If the scent bothers you, leaving the piece in a well-ventilated, shaded area for a few days will naturally reduce it.

As with all textile products, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or strong artificial lighting may cause fading. For long-term storage, we recommend keeping your piece away from direct light and fluorescent lamps. The included paulownia box is also suitable for long-term storage.

Yes. Domestic shipping within Japan is included in the ¥55,000 price.

International shipping is coming soon. We'll announce when it becomes available.

As each piece is made to order, cancellations after order confirmation are not accepted. If there is a defect or an error with your order, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.

We accept major credit cards (Visa / Mastercard / American Express / JCB) and PayPal.

You'll receive a confirmation email after ordering. If you're sending in materials, we'll follow up with our shipping address. A shipping notification will also be sent when your order is dispatched.

Each order is for one piece. For multiple pieces, please place separate orders.
